My name is Tina Bango and I’m a Registered Nurse, Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Certified GAPS Diet Practitioner and the founder of N Health.
I have personally been on a journey to obtain optimal health for myself and my family for the past 20+ years. I have gained wisdom from this quest that I want to share with you!
I graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing in 1992. I was ready to take on the job of helping patients that were “sick” to become “well”. What I soon discovered is our health care system treats symptoms with pills and prescriptions and doesn’t address the core of the problem. This mentality is fundamentally broken and should be called “Sick Care” not “Health Care”. I knew that there had to be a better way to gracefully age with dignity and strength, not diagnosis and disease.
In 2001, I had a partial thyroidectomy, in fear of cancer, which it wasn’t. I believe that in reality I was eating too many soy products and foods that inflamed my thyroid and subsequently caused a goiter. I have managed to remain prescription thyroid medication free by eating properly prepared, nutrient dense, whole foods, also, by eliminating foods that I was sensitive to.
In June, 2014 I completed my Nutritional Therapy Practitioners Certification. As a Nutritional Therapist I address nutrition from a holistic perspective. I embrace the importance of properly prepared whole foods that are delicious, nourish our bodies, and restore good health. Once foods have been highly processed, as most foods in America are, there is no combination of carbohydrates, fats, and protein that will ultimately be healthy. As dietary fads alternate between diets high in carbohydrates, and others high in protein and fat, one thing has become very obvious, there is no one perfect diet for everyone. While some people thrive on a diet relatively low in fats, for others the increase in carbohydrates is devastating.
Likewise, Atkins-like diets high in fat may have helped some people, but for others have been completely inappropriate and even dangerous. I believe in the concept of bio-individuality. There is no perfect diet for everyone. As your nutritional therapist I will help you find the right types of whole foods that will restore balance and enhance your ability to heal.
In September 2014, I completed my GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) certification with Dr Natasha Campbell –McBride. The GAPS Diet has helped thousands of people overcome many diseases and conditions. When I first heard about how life-changing the GAPS Diet is, I knew it was something I wanted to specialize in.
I feel compelled to share my knowledge and experiences with those willing and ready to take back their health!
